Optimizing Perceptual Machine Intelligence on Edge Devices by Prof. Archan Misra, Singapore Management University
Biography:
Prof. Archan Misra is Vice Provost (Research) and Professor of Computer Science at Singapore Management University (SMU). Archan has provided leadership to several multi-million-dollar, large-scale research initiatives at SMU. He is a current recipient of the prestigious Singapore NRF Investigator grant and is a Program co-PI with MIT. His current research interests lie in ultra-low energy execution of machine perception algorithms on IoT and edge devices to support advances in natural human-machine interaction. Archan has published on, and practically deployed, technologies spanning wireless networking, mobile & wearable sensing and urban mobility analytics. An ACM Distinguished Member, Archan holds a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland at College Park and chaired the IEEE Computer Society’s Technical Committee on Computer Communications (TCCC) from 2005-2007.

Biography:
Dr. Brojeshwar Bhowmick is a principal scientist leading the research in the area of Visual Computing and Embodied Intelligence in TCS Research, Kolkata, India. He did his PhD from the department of Computer Science and Engineering in Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in the area of Computer Vision and did his B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Kalyani. He is a fellow of IETE, senior member of IEEE and associate editor of Springer SNCS journal. He has served as an organizing committee member and program committee member of several conferences like ISBI, ICVGIP, CVPR, AAAI, IJCAI, WACV, ICLR etc.. He is a recipient of the best paper award in ICVGIP 2018 and 2021, best demo award at ICDCN 2020, patent champion award at TCS Research in 2016 and special mention Young IT Professional award by Computer Society of India in 2008. He has published over 60 research papers in the areas of Computer Vision, Graphics, AI and Robotics and has more than 30 granted patents.
