Profile:
Dr. Dipankar Dasgupta is a professor of Computer Science at the University of Memphis since 1997. He completed his Ph.D in 1994 on the topic of nature-inspired algorithms for Search and Optimization. His research interests are broadly in Computational Intelligence (CI); specifically, design, and development of CI-based security solutions and security of CI models. His notable works in digital immunity, negative authentication, AI-Based cloud insurance modeling, dual-filtering for secure ML and adaptive multi-factor authentication demonstrated the effective use of various AI/ML algorithms in real-world applications. His research accomplishments and achievements have appeared in Computer World Magazine, NASA’s website, and in TV Channels and Newspapers.
Dr. Dasgupta has authored/edited four books, 6 patents (including 2 under submissions) and have more than 300 research publications (+20,000 citations as per google scholar with H-index of 65) in book chapters, journals, and international conference proceedings. Among many awards, he was honored with the 2014 ACM-SIGEVO Impact Award for his seminal work on negative authentication, an AI-based approach. He also received five best paper awards in different international conferences and has been organizing Symposium on Computational Intelligence in Cyber Security at IEEE SSCI since 2007. Dr. Dasgupta is an IEEE Fellow, and NAI Fellow, an ACM Distinguished Speaker (2015-2020) and an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer (2022-2024). He regularly serves as panelist and keynote speaker and offer tutorials in leading computer science conferences and have given more than 350 invited talks in different universities and industries.

Sourav Kundu earned Doctor of Engineering in Genetic Algorithms from Tokyo Metropolitan University (Japan) in March 1996. Prior to that, he studied post graduate levels in UK (Cambridge University) and Australia (Sydney University). Sourav has extensive work experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain and Histotechnology, Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), in core Insurance (Actuary) domain and Insure-tech as well. He has been engaged in a variety of multi-geography Bio-IT, Finance Technology and AI projects in Domain and Technology Leader Roles with top-level companies such as Govita Tech. HK, HKGEpitherapeutics, AXA Life Insurance, Cigna Insurance, Sun Microsystems, Citigroup and UBS in Japan other countries. Sourav has taught university courses in Structural Engineering, Optimization, Business, AI, Computer Science Theory, Mechanical Engineering, at universities in Japan, USA, Turkey, Australia, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Germany, UK, Singapore and at the IITs India and at various companies in Japan, USA, Australia, Europe and Hong Kong. He is also Honorary Visiting Professor of Computational Intelligence and Information Science at Sangyo Gijutsu Daigaku (AIIT, Shinagawa, Japan). Sourav shares his time between learning new technologies, teaching, speaking at conferences around the world and spending time with his 16 years old daughter in Thailand.
